2009-12-25 My sixth trip. I used Denzil's Garmin GPS unit to mark waypoints. I then turned the decimal latitude and longitude values to degrees, minutes, and seconds. I recorded the time, temperature,and elevation, too. The temperature was a low of 17 at the parking lot, just about sunrise, got into the 20s while I was traveling the canyon, and was showing 32 halfway out of the canyon.

Along with getting waypoints, I found I can have links right to GOOGLE maps. But you need to zoom in and toggle satellite mode if you want to see what the area looks like. The shadows of the canyon hide a lot. Look at the photographs to see what the canyon looks like.

After the first one I went to my left and climbed up to the ledge level. I kept going upstream until I saw a slope and veered right and headed up.

I was sure glad I had my trekker pole at this point. The slope is steep and lots of small stone and dirt that slides on you. I took some photographs from here.

I chose to turn to my right and go higher in order to see what i could see. From up here I could see down into the canyon. So I then went back down to the saddle, made a right, dropped down into the mini-canyon, and diagonally up. Deja vu - I have been in this mini-canyon before. During my Jump Creek #2 hike I was here and lost my pedometer.
